Sussex’s very own wonder kid is sponsored by Flip and they’ve put out a sick edit, showcasing his abilities, to celebrate his arrival.
Flip was arguably the first European skate company to go truly global. Back in the early 90’s Brightonian skater Ian Deacon and Jeremy Fox crossed the Atlantic with Geoff Rowley, Rune Glifberg and Tom Penny in tow and conquered California.
That might sound like a bit of an exaggeration but with the addition of Mark Appleyard, Ali Boulala and a bunch of other incredible skaters, Flip put out Sorry, their official first full-length skate video and it remains one of the most iconic skate videos of all time.
Flash forward 20 years and a young Diggs English is being flown over to the US to record a video part with legends like Lance Mountain and young talent Corey Juneau, all while repping a Flip: Sorry t-shirt. It almost brings a tear to my eye.
With tricks filmed by Andy Evans and Diggs’ pal Harris Swinnerton (who brought us Sherbet), it’s a feast for the eyes. The multi-talented English makes skating crusty street and beastly transition look effortless.
And yes, he’s still only 14 🤯

Another video part that I have to mention is one that’s just been put out by Geese Skateboards. This relatively new skateboard company is the creative outlet of another young skateboarder and friend of Diggs, Milo Spencer-Shaw.
The Brighton local and winner of the under-16s category at the Level Skatepark competition this year has been working hard; designing t-shirts, spraying griptape (both of which are for sale via Instagram) and filming a video part.
It’s amazing to see kids like Milo and the aforementioned Harris Swinnerton filming, editing and putting out skate parts because they’re such an integral part of the culture around skateboarding. When I was a kid there were a whole bunch of Brighton skate videos being made so it’s amazing to see the torch being passed on to the younger generation.
Check out Geeseatron for 8 minutes of seeing exactly what skatings about. Finding cool spots, hanging out with your mates and pushing yourself to skate harder. Well done Milo 👏
